Check for Spies

Setup, Turns, and Taking PiecesIn chess, there are 2 opponents whereby the intention is to kill the opponent king. Well at least have it in checkmate.

Each piece on the board has it's the predetermined way in which it moves. Using their unique abilities to :
- win the war
- personal survival

What if the battle pieces do not share this view?

Could it be possible that those on the black and white are attempting to ensure a particular result. Could there be traitors/spies on one side.

This not knowing what the true intention actually of a piece creates a lot of mystery. Who on your side - who not on your side. Even given particular results you cannot really ever be sure who played what side.

Say black is bad and white is a good. Is it possible that some on the bad could actually be undermining the badteam such that good stills wins. Are these people who undermine the bad, actually angels in disguise.

This kind of dichotomy occurs quite frequently. For instance consider the notion of sin. Is it reasonable for someone to go to battle against those that sin. Seems a noble cause.

Would a person playing for the wrong team be judged as wrong from the outset. For instance would seeking solace  in the higher power would be better than fighting more earthly battles. However, ever good man couldn't take this option as ultimately the bad people would just run the world.

It apparent a word is needed which has all of the archetypes mentioned
- fighting for good within bad
- fighting for good avoiding bad
- not fighting
